Okay guys so I am going to start my recaps today! Today we will start with the very first episode of Call It What It Is! In this episode it starts off with Jess and Camilla doing an introduction into who they are and how they met. Jess talks about how she has 4 children, Luke, Eve, Poppy, and Josephine and a husband Christopher who all live in New York Coutnry side. She said shes a originally a midwesterner and thats who she is as shes from Missouiri. Jess says she’s the oldest of 10 siblings.
Camilla starts off by addressing the speculation surrounding her british accent and how people thought she was faking her British Accent. She said she was born and raised in England in a little town there but she has lived in different places in the US too. She mentioned living in Susquhanna PA, NYC, LA and stuff before coming anctress. Camilla then goes onto talk about her husband Matt and how she met him when they worked at a restaraunt in Santa Monica, CA. Together, Matt and Camilla have two kids Hayden, and Lucas. Hayden is now 8, and Lucas is now 5 since it was filmed!
The two then go on to talk about their amazing freindship. Jess says how whenever she needs to talk about something that is bothering her that Camilla will look/see something in way she never thought of it and it makes it all better for her. I just have to say this is my best freind with me too so I love that. Camilla says what she loves about Jess, is that she’s very honest, loyal, and when she never feels any judgement when she calls her about things. Jess says that what Camlla said is really important for what they are doing here with the pod. She loves that they figure things out together and they together feel that everything is figure outable, especially with the pod & listeners.
Camilla and Jess then talk about how the first time they met on Greys Anatomy. Camilla cracks me up everytime she tells this story.Jess had just given birth to her second baby girl so she was back from maternity leave. This would have been season 9 as they talk about the new intern class that Camilla was a part of. To make a long story short Shonda Rhimes the Greys Anatomy showrunner had a food truck on set the day they met. It was a Burger truck. Camilla wanted to take a picture of it, she didn’t realize that Jess was in the background eating a burger, and she posted the pic to Twitter. Jess got upset because she wanted to know who took the picture. She told Camilla to ask before she posts pics with her in the. The story turns out so beautiful though as they had friends in common and invited them to get dinner together. Everything was fine at that point but they were the only ones who showed up as everyone cancelled on them. It was then that Jess and her bonded, and became the best of friends.
The girls then start talking about pregnancy, Camilla says she didn’t look good during pregnancy. Jessica begs to differ and I agree with her. I think Camilla is beauitufl no matter what! Camilla talks about being pregnant on set. She was pregnant during the episode where Jo and Arizona go to the prison and deliver that girls baby, Camilla then talks about how when she had her son Lucas that she forgot how to swaddle. She called Jess and they were talking, Jess happened to be on the freeway and stopped at an exit and then came to Camillas just to show her how to swaddle Lucas. Camilla loved that moment so much, I do too I think thats so sweet. Camilla said they have been through big moments.
Camilla then talks about how Jess moved to the west coast and then Jess starts talking how once her time with Greys ended even though she moved across the country they never lost touch or lost their friendship.Camilla jokes that it was rude that Jess never asked her for permisson to leave. They talk about how they were their for each others kids birthdays. Jess said they moved to outside of NYC beacuse she felt it was better than raising the kids in the city. Camilla worried their friendship would change but it didn’t. They talk about doing the Grey’s con in Paris and how they made it into a girls trip. Camilla says they had the best time. Jess talked about how in Paris they had many times in the taxi where they had the case of the giggles.
Jess starts to tell a story about a restaurant they went to. They tried to get a table on the terrace but couldn’t because the host said it was for hotel guests. They do this cute little reinactment of it. They ended up sitting in the seats that looked into the terrace.The watier came up to them and they said they aren’t all hotel guests are they and the waiter said that celebs come over there. The girls thought that was so funny because they are celebs. Jess starts telling a story about how she was in the car with her husband Chris and how Camilla had called and they had got to laughing so hard. Her hubby told her he’s never seen her laugh that hard and hows he’s glad she has Camilla to do that for her.
Camilla and Jess then start talkijng about the concept of Call It What It Is and their intention with the podcast. Camilla says the way want to help the listeners solve their problems like they’ve helped each other solve their problems. Jess says sometimes people feel alone and they don’t need to feel that way because they call into the podcast and they’ll help them. They say to follow them on Call It What It Is instagram and to email, DM, or call them with things you want to talk about or need advice on. Camilla also reassures listeners they can remain anonymous
MY THOUGHTS ON THE EP:
I LOVE LOVE LOVED it. It was such a great introduction to the pod. I loved hearing about how much they mean to each other, how they’ve helped each other and how far they’ve come in their friendship. Its amazing to see how close they are. Everyone deserves to have a friendship like theirs! I can’t wait to dive in more to the pod as I do my binge! I hope you all enjoy my recaps! My thoughts are kinda short on this ep because its really just an introduction to the pod, their freindship, and who they are as people!
